UKAS Microphone Calibration
Acoustic Metrology is one of the few UK calibration companies to carry out UKAS calibration of Bruel & Kjaer 4144 and 4134 microphones.
The 4144 and 4134 are most commonly used in the field of audiometric calibration. The 1 4144 microphone is utilised in the BS EN 60318-3 reference coupler and the 4134 0.5 microphone is utilised in the BS EN 60318-1 artificial ear.
In both cases a comparison calibration technique is employed which follows the specifications of BS EN 61094-5:2002 for the pressure calibration of working standard microphones. The calibration certificate details the open circuit sensitivity figures from 125 to 8 kHz for the 4144 and from 125 to 16 kHz for the 4134.
