Mechanical Coupler Calibration
Acoustic Metrology is one of the few UK calibration companies able to offer a UKAS calibration service for the Bruel & Kjaer 4930 mechanical coupler.
The calibration procedure follows the specifications of BS EN 60318-6:2008 Mechanical coupler for the measurement of bone vibrators. The mechanical impedance of the 4930 is firstly tested in the frequency range 125 to 8 kHz to ensure that it complies with the specification of the standard. The force sensitivity of the 4930 is then measured and the results are tabulated on the calibration certificate at the audiometric and third octave frequencies from 125 to 8 kHz. The target figures for bone conductor calibration can be easily calculated from these figures.
Acoustic Metrology are also able to offer UKAS calibration of 4144 and 4134 microphones and traceable calibration of sound level meters and sound level calibrators.
